The following are the core beliefs of Awaken 514 Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
We Believe the Bible is the words of God. It accurately reveals who God is to us, has authority to impact the way we live, and is relevant for us today.
We Believe in one God who has and will exist forever, He is the creator of all things, is perfect in everyway, and has revealed Himself to us as God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.
We Believe that all people have intrinsic value and worth because they've been made in the image of God. We believe that sin has broken what God made perfect because each of us has chosen to reject God
We Believe Jesus is completely God and completely man and that He has existed forever with God the Father and God the Spirit. He came to earth and fully experienced life as we do but lived perfectly. He died on a cross to pay for sin and offers us His life and takes our sin on Himself. Jesus rose from the dead and now dwells with God in Heaven.
Salvation from our sin, cannot be earned. It is a given as a free gift to those who acknowledge that they have rejected God and who surrender their lives to God, trusting by faith that Jesus' sacrifice was enough to wash away their sin.
The Church is an imperfect community of people, committed to one another, who have given their lives to Jesus and seek to be transformed in their lives to be more like Jesus. Collectively as they grow, they show the world the goodness of God through living in the world but living counter to how the culture lives.
We Believe that Jesus will return to judge both those who are living and those who have died. He will judge whether we have trusted in His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection as our only hope to be made right with God.
