Small acts of kindness can make a big difference!

We believe that acts of kindness showcase the love that Jesus has shown for each of us. Jesus taught His followers, "Love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my followers if you love one another" The #ShareTheLove Campaign is an initiative that seeks to make an impact on our local community by creating a ripple of kindness from one person to the next.

Sometimes we have a desire to #ShareTheLove but struggle to come up with ideas as to how to show kindness to others. Below is a list of ideas on how you can

Before you begin

SOME CREATIVE IDEAS

Pay it Backward: buy coffee for the person behind you in line.

Compliment the first three people you talk to today.

Send an encouraging text message to five different people
 
Post inspirational sticky notes around your neighborhood, office, school, etc.

Donate old towels or blankets to an animal shelter.
 
Compliment a stranger on something.

Surprise a neighbor with freshly baked cookies or treats!

Let someone go in front of you in a checkout line who only has a few items.

Pay for the gas of someone at a Gas Station.

Leave a roll of quarters at the laundromat.

Encounter someone in customer service who is especially kind? Take five minutes to tell their manager.

Leave unused coupons next to corresponding products in the grocery store.

Leave a note on someone’s car telling them how awesome they parked.

Try to make sure every person in a group conversation feels included.

Send a gratitude email to a coworker who deserves more recognition.

Give away stuff for free on Craig’s List or Facebook Marketplace

Know parents who could use a night out? Offer to babysit for free.

Hold up positive signs for traffic or in a park for people exercising outside!

Return shopping carts for people at the grocery store.

While you’re out, compliment a parent on how well-behaved their child is.

Leave a kind server the biggest tip you can afford.

Pay the toll for the person behind you.

Everyone is important. Learn the names of people you come in contact with and greet/thank them by name

Purchase extra dog or cat food and bring it to an animal shelter.

Take flowers or treats to the nurses’ station at your nearest hospital.

Send a ‘Thank you’ card or note to the officers at your local police or fire station.

Take muffins or cookies to your local librarians.

Leave a box of goodies in your mailbox for your mail carrier.

Tape coins around a playground for kids to find.

Put your phone away while in the company of others.

Email or write to a former teacher or coach who made a difference in your life.

Let someone go in front of you at the supermarket.
 
Buy the next person in line a coffee.

Donate something anonymously to a person in need.
 
Give money to a charity.

Visit a grandparent or older person you know in a nursing home.
 
Donate some food to your local food bank.

Become a Big Brother or Big Sister to a child that would benefit from a mentor.
 
Hide money in a popular library book with an encouraging note

Let someone else have your prime parking space.
 
Hold the door open for the person behind you.
 
Donate blood.  One pint of blood can save up to three lives.  Locate your nearest blood drive.

Go to a local retailer and pay off someone's layaway items

Create a care package and send it to an active duty military unit.

If you see someone pulled over with a flat tire, or in need of assistance, stop and ask how you can help.

Be a courteous driver.  Let people merge in front of you.

Put some change in an expired parking meter.

When someone wants to repay you for something, ask them to Share the Love and pay it forward.
